Specify pizzeria packaging around the baked pizza, the mix of sizes sold and the actual pickup or delivery journey. Separate box fit, service testing and artwork quantities before requesting prices.
Build the specification from a finished pizza
Measure a baked pizza including its widest crust and tallest topping. Specify usable inside dimensions, the required lid clearance and the closing arrangement. A nominal pizza diameter is a useful product label, not a complete box fit specification.
| Decision | What to record | Next check |
|---|---|---|
| Box fit | Finished pizza envelope and usable inside dimensions | Close a proposed sample with the actual pizza |
| Size mix | Pizzas sold per size, rather than just order count | Plan separate purchasing lines |
| Service journey | Pickup/delivery, holding period and order arrangement | Use a documented sample test |
| Brand method | Designs, application steps and quoted costs | Compare print with labels on equivalent boxes |
Count boxes per pizza, not automatically per ticket
If a completed order contains several pizzas, box usage exceeds order count. Separate sizes and track their daily or weekly usage. Napkins and carryout bags use their own service rates, so a pizza-box total should not be copied into every accessory line.
For an illustrative week of 300 small and 200 large pizzas, plan 300 and 200 boxes before allowances. Combining them into a 500-box total does not confirm production minimums across the two structures.
Test the actual delivery arrangement
Evaluate closure, stacking, lifting and the normal service journey with the proposed sample and finished food. Record the reference, conditions and result. Fit alone does not establish food-contact suitability, heat behavior or how the pizza reaches the customer.
If you require ventilation, a liner, seals or carrying bags, describe their roles separately. The final construction and suitability need confirmation for the quoted reference.
Prepare a comparable packaging quote
- Usable inside length, width and height for each pizza size.
- Food use, holding journey and any liner or ventilation requirement.
- Quantity per size and artwork run.
- Artwork status and requested print areas.
- Delivery ZIP and required date.
BrandYourPack reviews the requested packaging as a project. Confirm material, closure, minimums, pricing and delivery in the proposal before production.
Build a coordinated setup
Selections to review for your project. Each reference and its conditions are confirmed in your quote.
The pickup order
Review the box with the finished pizza and count napkins from your service policy. Confirm any carrying arrangement separately.
The delivery arrangement
Evaluate the intended stack, closure and handoff. Describe any liner, seal or carrying requirement as a separate part of the brief.

Two sizes. Two clear specifications.
Illustrative planning example: a pizzeria offers two pizza sizes for pickup and delivery. Its brief gives inside dimensions and quantities for each box, identifies artwork versions and records the normal delivery arrangement. A sample check resolves fit before final production artwork is prepared.
Use the quote checklistQuestions about this decision
Can I order all pizza sizes under one total?
Provide the combined planning total and the separate quantities by size and artwork. The supplier must confirm whether any minimum can be shared.
Does a pizza-box size describe the usable interior?
Ask how the reference is measured. External or nominal dimensions do not automatically equal usable inside space.
Should I order napkins in the same quantity as boxes?
Use the actual napkins-per-order or per-pizza policy. Count each consumable independently.
