A takeaway package needs to work from filling through carrying and opening. Describe the actual food, portion, temperature, moisture or grease, and the time between packing and consumption.
Choose containers around the menu
Compare burger boxes for assembled portion height, pizza boxes for diameter and holding conditions, and food bowls for working fill and matched lids. Do not infer leak resistance or heating suitability from an image.
Test carryout fit
Place the full container arrangement inside the intended paper bag. Include sauces, drinks and side items when checking stability and carrying. Evaluate samples using your normal service journey.
Plan the printed details
Identify food-contact and exterior print areas for confirmation. For food labels, describe the container, application temperature and storage conditions. Your business should verify the product information in the artwork.
Request a coordinated quote
List each format, quantity per design, print area and accessory. Request documentation appropriate to the final material and intended food use; a generic packaging name is not evidence of suitability.
Compare the full food packaging catalog and prepare your quote checklist before sending artwork.
Build the order from food to carryout
Plan the food container first, then wrap or lining, accessories and the carryout bag. This keeps fit and quantities tied to the menu rather than selecting each item from appearance alone.
| Menu or service | Starting collection | What to test |
|---|---|---|
| Burgers and sandwiches | Burger boxes and printed greaseproof sheets | Finished food, wrap folds and closure |
| Pizza | Custom pizza boxes | Inside fit, toppings, stacking and journey |
| Meals to go | Takeout boxes and carryout bags | All filled containers in the bag |
| Drink service | Paper cups and accessories | Exact cup and lid combination |
How many containers and bags does takeout need?
Count the components in a completed order. Two meals in one bag can mean two containers, two liners and one bag; drinks may add a different set of items. Enter your own mix into the packaging consumption calculator, including stock and waste, then specify quantities per size and artwork run.
For café operations, use the coffee shop packaging plan. Compare paper uses and bag measurements before sending your quote specification.
