A closer look.
Build coffee packaging around your roast, brand and retail format. Include the coffee weight and whether you require a valve, zipper or resealable closure so your quote reflects the full specification.
Specify the roast, fill and packing process together
Start with whole-bean or ground coffee, target fill weight and the way the coffee is packed. Then identify the pouch construction, usable dimensions, closure and any valve request. Fill weight alone does not establish bag dimensions: coffee density, gussets and sealing space change the fit.
A resealable zipper supports access after opening; the initial seal and any valve have different jobs. State which features you need rather than treating them as interchangeable. Material and performance requirements must be assessed for the proposed coffee and storage conditions.
For several roasts, list each design and quantity separately. An illustrative launch with 600 bags across three designs is a 600-unit planning total; it does not confirm a 200-unit production minimum per design. Use the packaging consumption calculator for quantities and stock, the valve and gusset guide for construction and the coffee pouch specification guide for your request. Prepare your specification
Whole bean or ground; fill weight and volume; valve request; closure and packing process. These are details to provide for review, not a list of confirmed options.
Compare before you choose
For flexible bags for whole-bean and ground coffee, start with the intended use and the complete packed product. A similar appearance or size label does not confirm the same construction or performance.

Custom Coffee Bags FAQ
Answers for planning your request.
Why should I state whole-bean or ground coffee?
They can occupy space differently and have different packing considerations. Include the actual product and intended fill rather than only the roast name.
Does every coffee bag include a valve?
No. Request a valve explicitly if the coffee and packing process call for one; the image does not establish its inclusion.
Is a valve a substitute for the package's seal?
No. Valve selection, closure and production sealing are distinct parts of the specification and should be reviewed together.
What should I state about packing freshly roasted coffee?
Describe your packing process, timing and equipment so the proposed structure and valve requirements can be evaluated.
Can a 12 oz coffee label determine the physical bag size?
No. Include actual dimensions and test filling with the intended coffee. Weight alone does not define usable volume.
How should roast variants be organized in the artwork?
Identify what changes between roasts, such as names or labels, and give quantities for each design. Keep the confirmed structural layout consistent where applicable.
Where can I add batch information or a roast date?
Identify the variable-information area and how you intend to mark it. Confirm compatibility of that method with the finished surface.
How do I coordinate retail coffee bags with café cups?
Share brand assets, but use separate layouts for coffee cups and bags. Their print surfaces and viewing conditions differ.
Why is fill weight not a complete pouch size?
Weight measures mass, while packaging must accommodate volume. Different contents can occupy different space at the same weight.
What dimensions should a pouch request include?
State width, height and any gusset, plus the contents and intended fill. Indicate how dimensions were measured rather than relying on an ounce label alone. Use the format planning guide to prepare the details.
Is a zipper the same as a production seal?
No. A zipper is a resealable consumer closure. The filling process may require a separate seal whose method must match the pouch structure and equipment.
Can the appearance establish a pouch's barrier properties?
No. Ask for the proposed material structure and performance relevant to the product. A metallic appearance alone does not establish an oxygen or moisture barrier.
Can a pouch alone establish shelf life?
No. The contents, processing, filling, seals and storage conditions all matter. Validate the complete combination before making a shelf-life claim.
Should filling equipment be considered before artwork?
Yes. Seal areas, clearances and filling methods affect the usable layout. Confirm the construction and template before preparing the production file.
How should I evaluate a pouch sample?
Fill and close it using the intended process, then check capacity, handling, presentation and seal performance under the relevant conditions.
Where can I learn how to specify flexible packaging?
Read the pouch specification guide for a measurement checklist and distinctions between fill weight, closure and material structure.
What should I include when requesting custom coffee bags?
For flexible bags for whole-bean and ground coffee, include whole bean or ground; fill weight and volume; valve request; closure and packing process. Add quantities per design and delivery ZIP. Use the quote checklist to organize your request.
Are the listed options confirmed production specifications for custom coffee bags?
The configurator is a starting point for flexible bags for whole-bean and ground coffee. The final quote must identify the chosen construction, dimensions, print and any accessories before approval.
How should I plan quantities across different coffee roasts?
List the artwork and expected fill quantity for each roast. Keep different bag constructions and sizes separate. Use the packaging consumption calculator to estimate consumption and stock, then request confirmation of available quantities per design.
Does a coffee bag fill weight define its dimensions?
No. Coffee density, the pouch construction, gussets and seal space affect fit. Provide your target fill and packing process with the proposed dimensions; the coffee pouch guide explains the specification.
